about

Prophet Bird is the lead-in single from the forthcoming album: Seaworthy Vessels are in Short Supply, to be released in January.
Prophet Bird is an elegiacal telling of the last hours of the writer, Hermann Hesse.
The Prophet Bird EP also includes 3 exclusive songs, none of which appear on the forthcoming album.

lyrics

Deep in the dusty woodland
In the oldest, highest tree
On a stripped and dying limb you wait
For the Prophet Bird to sing

He vanished from a modest nest
Into the clay of night
And no one knows the Prophet Bird
Or when he will take flight

His origin- a mystery
The legend stories ring
Throughout the forest, silence
When he shakes his noble wings

A woman stands beside the bed
Of her husband as he sleeps
She hears each shallow breath go out
As she hears the branches creak

The muted strains of Schumann
From the corner of the room
Illumined by a candle
And filtered by the moon

And there outside the window
Sitting on a ledge
The Prophet Bird assumes his post
And waits to sing again
